At first glance, I did not like about the new Citrix Receiver 3.0 because it seemed inconvenient and some of the old features were removed. Unlike Citrix Online Plug-in v12. a menu of published applications when you click on the icon. The other thing couldn’t figure out was how to display all the published applications on the desktop. The default installation of the receiver will only show a very simplified menu. You cannot even change the server path. This was possibly designed this way to prevent users from “accidentally” changing the server path.
If you go to Preferences and enable the “Show advanced Receiver menu items”.
It will only give you the ability to refresh, reconnect or disconnect from your Citrix applications.
There is another menu that is in a very inconspicuous location. If you go back to the Preferences window under Plug-in status. You can right click on the Online Plug-in and it will bring up another menu with “Change Server” and “Options”.
This option window is almost identical to the old version. Here you can enable Desktop Options to Show applications on desktop.
I am getting used new Citrix Receiver 3.0 because it works better with XenDesktop and give users a better experience.
Yeah, it is quirky. Do you know how to set these options in a silent installation?
ReplyDeleteYes you can find examples in http://support.citrix.com/proddocs/topic/receiver-30-windows/ica-configure-command-line.html
ReplyDeletebasically the /Silent switch will make it silent. You have to get the CitrixReceiverEnterprise.exe install file.
